The students we select to be TOP Scholars are self-motivated, passionate tennis players, and hardworking students. We provide the resources and mentorship they need to continue to succeed and work toward a college scholarship.

Requirements

• Students must maintain a B/B+ GPA while in the program

• Family has to meet financial eligibility requirements 

• Students must be playing or planning to play in the USTA

About TOP scholars

• 30-40 students are chosen each year

• Up to $3,300 is given per year per student for tutoring, training, and tournament expenses

• The Future Stars are 6 to 10-year-old beginners

• The Ranked Stars are 10 to 18-year-old tennis players competing in USTA tournaments

  TOP is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide economically challenged Chicago area youth with the opportunity to achieve excellence—as students, as tennis players, and as productive citizens.  The organization has been providing tennis and academic support to youth in the Chicago area for more than 25 years.

  
  

  The TOP Board of Directors is accepting scholarship applications from Chicago youth, ages 6-18, for the 2025-2026 season.  TOP students receive weekly group tennis lessons, academic support, assistance with tournament expenses, and personal development mentoring.
